Day 1: Arrival, flight to Scotland

Arrival by own arrangement to Glasgow Airport by 5 p.m.
You will be welcomed by our tour guide. At 5.30 p.m., transfer of all participants to the first hotel in Crianlarich or surroundings, followed by a cosy social gathering and dinner.

If arriving at Edinburgh at 3 p.m., transfer to the meet-up in Glasgow Airport and to the collective transfer at 5.30 p.m.

Day 2: Hike on the West Highland Way

An attractive and varied hike through forests and panoramic landscapes along a section of the West Highland Way, on the trail of Scottish clans. Just a few short ascents and descents, ideal for a first hiking day. Duration ca. 6 hours (21 km) or 3 hours (12 km).

Day 3: West Highland Way or visit to a Munro

Today there is an individual choice between two routes, another section of the West Highland Way, a flat to slightly hilly and non-challenging hiking trail along a former military route. Duration ca. 4-5 hours (14 km).

The alternative route has some steep ascents and descents and takes you across mountain peaks (Munros) with a breath-taking panorama. Duration ca. 8 hours (16 km),

Then transfer to the next hotel in Fort William.

Day 4: Hike through Rannoch Moor

At the start of today’s eventful programme, a wild and romantic trip on the West Highland Railway Line from the Bridge of Orchy to Rannoch Moor. Hike through Rannoch Moor to the famous Pass of Glencoe, one of Europe’s last large areas of untouched nature, and a paradise for its varied fauna and flora.

The hike follows picturesque lochs with white sandy beaches, far away from any roads. Duration ca. 6-7 hours (22 km).

Day 5: Ben Nevis

Hike with an ascent of Ben Nevis (1,342 m), Great Britain’s highest mountain. Duration ca. 7 hours (17 km). Impressive panoramic views, already during the climb, but above all from the summit of Ben Nevis. In good weather you can see the entire Scottish Highlands and many of the Hebrides islands.

Alternatively, a hike through Glen Nevis with its waterfalls. Duration of the hike varies.

Day 6: Lonesome Highland hike

Concluding hike on the last section of the West Highland Way through lonesome Highland valleys from Kinlochleven to Fort William. Duration ca. 6 hours (22 km)

Or to the alternative hike: idyllic Glen Nevis. Duration ca. 4 hours (12 km).

Day 7: Discovery tour and Edinburgh

After the hikes, today we have a long drive by bus along the Great Glen and the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness. Short tour of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, visit to a wool mill and tour of a whisky distillery, followed by a taste of the Scottish water of life.

After a visit to the site of the Battle of Culloden and one of the best-preserved prehistoric stone circles in Scotland, we continue to Edinburgh, with a city tour by bus.

Day 8: Return home

After breakfast, return home by own arrangement or transfer to Edinburgh Airport (included in the price), alternatively also transfer to Glasgow Airport (38 EUR).
