Rheinsteig between St. Goarshausen and Rüdesheim
Day 1: Arrival at the hotel in Dörscheid
After settling into your room there is enough time to explore the small town or take part in a wine tasting with the local winegrower.
Free parking at the hotel.
Rail travellers will be collected from Kaub Railway Station.
Day 2: Hike Dörscheid – Lorch
Hike distance ca. 16 km, 350 m ascent
Hike from the hotel through vineyard terraces down to Kaub, then through the old winegrowing town. Ascent to Gutenfels Castle and on through vineyards to the heights of the Rhine, and continue, with wide views into the Rhine Valley, to Lorch. Return by rail to Kaub, collection there and transfer to the hotel in Dörscheid.
Day 3: Hike Lorch – Assmannshausen
Hike distance ca. 16 km, 440 m ascent
Transfer in the morning to Lorch, hike on the Rheinsteig to Assmannshausen, return by KD ship to Kaub, collection there and transfer to the hotel in Dörscheid.
Day 4: Hike Dörscheid – St. Goarshausen
Hike distance ca. 19 km, 360 m ascent
Transfer in the morning from the hotel via the heights of the Rhine, then with several ascents and descents to various different viewing points. Finally to the world-famous Loreley rocks, and the Loreley Visitors’ Centre, before hiking back down to St. Goarshausen at the Rhine. Return by KD ship or rail to Kaub, collection there and transfer to the hotel in Dörscheid.
Day 5: Return home from Dörscheid
Rail travellers will be taken to Kaub Railway Station.

On our fixed quarters tours you start out on a hike every day from your fixed quarters, on a route that will lead you back to your hotel. We arrange all necessary transfers, which are usually provided by the local hotels.
