Rennsteig between Inselsberg and Oberhof
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at the hotel in Floh-Seligenthal. Once you have occupied your comfortable room, there is time to get to know the area, the historical half-timbered town of Schmalkalden, or visit the Finstertal Mine.
Day 2: Hike Inselsberg – Neue Ausspanne
Hiking distance ca. 18 km, 460 m ascent
Alternative:
Hike from Neue Ausspanne via Ebertswiese Mountain Lake to the hotel, hiking distance ca. 13 km, 280 m ascent
Day 3: Hike from Oberhof
Transfer in the morning to Oberhof, visit the town and the sporting venues, then on to the Rennsteig Garden, beautiful grounds with something of an Alpine character. Hike from there to the Rennsteig Arena and across the Sperrhügel back to the hotel. Hiking distance ca. 20 km, 350 m ascent
Alternative:
Hike to the sporting venues of Oberhof, to the Rennsteig Garden and Rennsteig Arena, hiking distance ca. 12 km, 120 m ascent
Day 4: Hike from Tambach-Dietharz
Transfer in the morning to Tambach-Dietharz, from there hike back to the hotel. Hiking distance ca. 18 km, 420 m ascent
Alternative:
Hike from Rotteroder Höhe to the Rennsteig and across the Sperrhügel back to the hotel, hiking distance ca. 12 km, 310 m ascent
Day 5: Return home
Return home from the hotel in Floh-Seligenthal
Rail travellers: Hikers shall be brought with their luggage to the nearest railway station (Schmalkalden).

Individual hiking tours in Germany can be hiked at the stated times without a hiking guide, also by individuals. We provide you with all of the necessary materials, such as hiking map, tour description, etc.
Guided hiking tours in Germany differ from the individual tours in that an experienced guide with local knowledge accompanies you during the entire tour.
On our fixed quarters tours you start out on a hike every day from your fixed quarters, on a route that will lead you back to your hotel. We arrange all necessary transfers, which are usually provided by the local hotels.
