Sunday: Arrival (also possible on Saturday)

Arrival by own arrangement by car or rail to the hotel in Soprabolzano in Ritten, free parking. By rail, travel to Bolzano and take the cable car to Soprabolzano, where you will be collected (or take a taxi from Bolzano Railway Station to the hotel for ca. 40 Euro). Welcome drink in the evening, with a presentation of the hiking programme.

Monday: Hike on the southern slope of Ritten

Along an old cart path to the “earth pyramids” in the Katzenbachgraben, from there via the Spornbergerhof to the Ebnicherhof with a glorious view of the state capital of Bolzano. After a refreshment break, return via the Krumereck to Maria Himmelfahrt, the former summer resort of the Bolzano patrician families, and from there back to the hotel in Soprabolzano (ca. 4 hours).

Tuesday: Hike, refreshment with wine

By Rittner Railway to Klobenstein, along the Erdpyramiden Trail to Maria Saal and a visit to the pilgrimage church, continue via the Kalvariensteig to the Hexenbödele (according to legend, witches were burned there), then through forests and meadows on the Kartoffelsteig to the Riedlingerhof (ca. 5 hours.). After a hearty lunch on the farm, return to the hotel in Soprabolzano.

Wednesday: Individual hike

Hike for groups with a guide, or else without, from the hotel across meadows and through forests to the settlement of Riggermoos, continue uphill through the forest to Tann, then along a pretty hillside path to Bad Süss and a refreshment stop, back down across meadows to the Finsterbach Bridge and continue on the Erdpyramidenweg to Klobenstein. Take the Rittner Railway back to Soprabolzano (ca. 4½ hours).

Thursday: High-altitude hike in the Dolomites

Bus transfer to the starting point of the hike. Ascend by chair lift, then hike with a wonderful panoramic view along the Hirzelweg to the Christomannos Monument and on to the Rotwandhütte. After a refreshment stop, continue to the Karerpass and return by bus to the hotel (ca. 5 hours).
Transport costs on this day 25 EUR, payable on site!

Freitag: Hike and farmer’s lunch

Hike along paths and trails via Lichtenstern to Kematen, visit to the 100 year-old church, past the Kematerweiher to the Bühlerhof im Gebracht, where the innkeeper will invite us to partake in a hearty farmer’s lunch. Return via the Lobishof to the hotel (ca. 4 hours).

Saturday: Bolzano, stroll around the city and farmer’s market

By Rittner Cable Car down to Bolzano, stroll around the city and visit the large Saturday market behind the Talfer Bridge, returning in your own time to Soprabolzano by cable car.

Sunday: Return home by own arrangement
