Day 1: Arrival

Joint arrival from Dillenburg via the A4 Eisenach-Dresden-Bautzen, across the border into the Czech Republic near Zittau and on to the hotel (fixed quarters) in Spindlermühle (Špindlerův Mlýn). Pick-up possibilities upon request. Cars can be parked in Dillenburg underground car park for the duration of the hiking tour for 30 EUR.

Day 2: Source of the Elbe and Schneegruben

By chair lift from Spindlermühle (750 m) up to the Schlüsselberg (Medvědín, 1,234 m). Hike to the Pantschenfall (Pančavský vodopád) and the Elbquelle (Pramen Labe, 1,386 m). From there to the ridgeway and over the Veilchenstein (Violík/Łabski Szczyt) to the bloodcurdling Schneegruben (Śnieżne Kotły). Continue on the ridgeway around the Hohes Rad (1,508 m) and back down via Mannsteine and Mädelesteine to the Spindlerpass (ca. 17 km, 5½ hours).

Day 3: Schneekoppe and Weisswassergrund

Hike along the Polish-Czech Friendship Trail via the Mittagsstein to the Schlesierhaus (Schronisko Dom Śląski, 1,400 m). From there, ascend on a zig-zag path to the peak of the Schneekoppe (1,602 m). Back down on the Jubilee Trail to the Koppenplan (Równia pod Śnieżką) and through the Aupamoors to the Wiesenbaude (Luční bouda). Descend through the Weißwassergrund, which at times seems primeval (ca. 22 km, 7 hours).

Day 4: From Johannisbad to Spindlermühle

By bus to Johannisbad (Janské Lázně) and by cable car up to the Schwarzer Berg (1,250 m). Hike via Bodenwiese (1,105 m) to the Fuchsberg (Liščí Kopec, 1,362 m) and on to the Planurbaude (Boudy na Pláni). After a refreshment stop, take the chair lift back down to Spindlermühle and by bus back to the hotel (17 km, 4 hours).

Day 5: Elbefall and Harrachsteine

Hike to the Peterbaude (Petrova bouda) and along a pretty hillside path to the Martinsbaude (Martinova bouda), then above the Elbegrund to the Elbfall (Labský vodopád), with the concrete block of the Elbebaude (1,320 m). Then via the Pantschewiese to the Harrachsteine (Harrachovy kameny) and from there down to the Schlüsselbauden, and further down to Spindlermühle and by bus back to the hotel (ca. 18 km, 5 hours).

Day 6: Adršpach-Teplice Rocks

By bus to Adršpach, tour of the imposing rocks and via steps to the various viewing points. By bus to Hohenelbe (Vrchlabí) and a brief stroll through the town (shopping opportunity), before returning to Spindlermühle (ca. 11 km, 4½ hours).

Day 7: Return home

Return home together by bus to Dillenburg or to the various pick-up points.
