Day 1: Arrival in Avignon
Flight from Germany to Marseille or travel by rail to Avignon (flight and rail fare not included in the price. Upon request, we can book a cheap fare for you). Collection from Marseille Airport or Avignon Railway Station and transfer to the hotel (*** hotel, fixed quarters), a pretty resort with a garden pool. Welcome session in the evening, at which our hiking guide will present the programme, followed by dinner.
Day 2: Van Gogh Hiking Trail
By bus to Saint-Rémy, a simple hike past the ancient city of Glanum to the Rocher des Deux Trous (rock with two holes), from there along the ridgeway of the Alpilles, with unforgettable views of Glanum. Trip to the historic village of Les Baux-de-Provence and a tour of the ruined village (ca. 14 km).
Day 3: Pont du Gard
Transfer to the Pont du Gard, the famous Roman aqueduct. Then on to Collias, with a hike on the GR 63 through the Gardon Gorge and back to Collias (ca. 15 km). Finally, a trip to Uzes and a tour of the attractive medieval town (ca. 15 km).
Day 4: Silvacane Abbey
Trip to Silvacane, from there a looped hike over the heights of the Roques Ménoures and to the village of La Roque d'Anthéron, then back to the former Cistercian Abbey and a tour of the site (ca. 14 km).
Day 5: Avignon, the City of the Popes
Culture is on the agenda today. Excursion to Avignon, tour of the papal palace, the palace gardens, and the renowned Pont d’Avignon. Trip to Rousillon in the afternoon, and hike through the imposing ochre rocks.
Day 6: Dentelles de Montmirail
Trip to Carpentras, visit to a colourful Provençal market and tour of the town. Then transfer to Gigondas and hike through the unmistakable Dentelles de Montmirail back to Gigondas, a challenging tour of ca. 15 km. At the end, a wine tasting in the winegrowers’ boutique.
Day 7: Vidauque Mountain Gorge
Transfer to the village of Vidauque near Cavaillon. Start of the looped hike on the north flank of Lubéron Mountain. The challenging and varied tour leads through Vidauque Gorge to the peak of the Fourcat (600 m above sea level), from there along the ridgeway and finally through the Sapine and Colombier valleys, back to the starting point (ca. 16 km).
Day 8: Return home
Transfer to Marseille Airport or Avignon Railway Station
Flight home by own arrangement.

Individual hiking tours in Europe are planned in accordance with your individual wishes.
Guided hiking tours in Europe differ from the individual tours in that an experienced guide with local knowledge accompanies you during the entire tour.
