Day 3: Rieshofen - Kipfenberg (14 km, 440 m ascent)
Day 4: Kipfenberg - Unteremmendorf (13 km, 340 m ascent)
Day 5: Unteremmendorf - Beilngries (12 km, 180 m ascent)
Day 6: Beilngries/Töging - Riedenburg (16 km, 320 m ascent)
Day 7: Riedenburg - Essing (12 km, 410 m ascent)
Day 8: Essing - Kelheim (12 km, 170 m ascent)
Day 9: Departure from Kelheim or return to Eichstätt

Daily arrival for all tours:

April until mid-October

Some stages can be shortened by using public buses, while boats also travel from Beilngries to Kelheim on the Main-Danube Canal.
Alternative: Take the boat along the Danube for the last 4 km from Weltenburg Monastery through the world-famous Danube gap “Weltenburger Enge” to Kelheim.

How to get to the Altmühltal Panoramic Trail

By car or rail to the first hotel on the tour in Gunzenhausen, hotel car park and collection from the railway station for a fee, or take a taxi from the station to the hotel. Arrival to other stage departure points also possible!

Departure from the Altmühltal Panoramic Trail

By rail: From Kelheim take the public bus to Saal/Donau Railway Station or to Regensburg Central Station.

By car: From Kelheim a short bus or taxi journey to Saal/Donau Railway Station, return by train to Gunzenhausen or to your starting point.
