1st day: Arrival
Individual journey to Krems
The 1000 year old city of Krems enchants with historical sights, cultural highlights and culinary delights. In the year 2000 Krems was declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO.

2nd day: Hike from Krems to Dürnstein
Daily stage: about 12 km, 4.5 hours, difference in altitude in ascent / descent: 385 / 391 m
The tour leads through the old town of Krems up to the Krems vineyards. The ascent is rewarded by the wonderful distant view. The tour continues to the old town of Stein via the Steiner wine landscape to the castle ruins. You follow old wine paths and reach the Pfaffenberg and enter the Wachau wine growing area. Via the impressive Loibenberg reed you reach Dürnstein. Return by bus to Krems.

3rd day: Hike from Weißenkirchen to Spitz
Daily stage: about 11 km, 3.5 hours, difference in altitude during ascent / descent: 506 / 494 m
After a boat trip on the Danube, you will reach the enchanting winegrowing village of Weißenkirchen in the Wachau. This stage leads through a unique wine landscape. High above the Danube, the largest enclosed wine-growing area in the Wachau awaits you. Over meadows and rocky landscapes you reach the Michaelerberg (natural monument). Through the Red Gate, the remains of the former defence wall, you enter the winegrowing village of Spitz. The descent takes you through the vineyards to the baroque church square.

4th day: Hike from the Spitzer Gräben to Mühldorf
Daily stage: approx. 11 km, 4 hours, difference in altitude in ascent / descent: 487 / 345 m
The high-altitude hike leads over the panoramic mountains Tausendeimerberg and Setzberg into the impressive stone terrace wine landscape of the Spitzer Gräben to Muthstall. Via Niederranner you hike to Oberranner Castle and further down into the valley to Calvary. Along the Ötzbach stream, the trail gently descends to Unterranna and on to Mühldorf. Return by bus to Spitz an der Donau.

5th day: Hike from Aggsbach Markt to Emmersdorf
Daily stage: approx. 15 km, 5 hours, difference in altitude in ascent / descent: 611 / 607 m
Travel by bus to Aggsbach Markt. From the market place the picturesque path leads over the Edelberg to the plateau Bärenreut. Via Zintring and Felbring you reach the castle ruin Gossam and follow the historic postman's path to Mödelsdorf.
The stage leads along an old goods road to the Renaissance town of Emmersdorf on the Danube.

6th day: Hike from Emmersdorf to Weiten
Daily stage: approx. 18 km, 6 hours, difference in altitude in ascent / descent: 632 / 509 m
Today you hike along the Jauerling-Runde to Weiten. The stage starts in Emmersdorf and continues to Rothenhof Castle and St. Georgen. The trail leads up to Pömling and then down to Eitental. Via Lohsdorfer Höhe and Kögelfeld the route continues via the hamlet of Mörenz to the highest point of the stage, the players' cross. On an old goods road you reach Weiten with its fortified church. Return by bus to Emmersdorf.

7th day: Hike from Emmersdorf to Melk
Daily stage: approx. 10 km, 3 hours, difference in altitude in ascent / descent: 236 / 231 m
The hike takes you from the centre via Rothenhof Castle to the village of Rantenberg. There is the possibility to make a detour to the lookout point Dachberg to enjoy the fantastic panoramic view. The path is always downhill to the Danube. On the island of Luberegg you reach the Danube power plant Melk, where you cross the Danube and finally reach the old town of Melk. Opportunity to visit Melk Abbey.
