Upper Bavaria like in a picture book: Reit im Winkl, in the southernmost corner of Germany, situated at an altitude of 700 meters with a healthy stimulating climate, can serve with anything the wanderer's heart desires.

Old, rustic farms, balconies decorated with flowers, Churches and chapels, inns with beer gardens, intact nature and many hiking trails.

Some of them are very special ways: Premium hiking trails summer and winter, certified by the German Hiking Institute.

Daily hikes according to our suggestions or individual, weather-dependent tours. The participation in the walks of the local Tourism offices are free of charge.

The hotel also organizes hikes with its own guide, the participation is free of charge for hotel guests!

Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival by own arrangement
by car to the hotel in Reit im Winkl
by rail to Prien am Chiemsee Railway Station
and by public bus to the hotel in Reit im Winkl.

First arrival on May 10th, last on October 25th

Day 2: Guided Walk-through, Hike Kapellensteig

Monday at 10 am from the tourist office. Guided tour through Reit im Winkl with information about the village and its facilities, followed by an individual hike on the premium trail Kapellensteig (approx. 7 km, 300 Hm, 3½ hrs).

Day 3: Alpine Hike Glacier View

First ascent with a minibus to the Hindenburghütte at 1260 m (Costs payable to the driver) from there a circular hike on the panoramic Premiumweg Gletscherblick via the Straubinger Haus on a comfortable way back to the hut, after a stop with the bus back down to Reit im Winkl (approx. 13 km, 520 Hm, 5½ hours).

Day 4:

On the premium trail to the Loferau and the Mühlau high moor, then steeply up to Hauseralm, Descent into the valley via the Klausenbergalm to the gorge, after the Klammsteig (surefootedness) back again via Benzeck to Reit im Winkl (approx. 10 km, 330 Hm, 3½ hours), recommended a detour to the Steinbach estate of the family Count von Moltke with a stopover, from there back to Reit im Winkl (+ approx. 1 hour).

Day 5:

Take the public bus or the local bus up to the Winklmoosalm various hikes possible on this high altitude hiking area, for this purpose various suggestions in our travel documents.

Day 6: Alpine Hike Chiemsee View

Tough, long and alpine tour, can be shortened on the way (Details in our travel documents), at the beginning steep ascent on the premium trail Chiemseeblick to the Wetterkreuz and via the Hutzenalm to the Stoibenmöseralm (1273 m) with magnificent views of the Kaisergebirge and Chiemsee, Return in the direction of Hutzenalm and Glapfalm, steep descent at the waterfall to Reit im Winkl (approx. 13 km, 1020 Hm, 7 hrs).

Day 7:

First ascent with a minibus to the Hindenburghütte at 1260 m (Costs payable to the driver) Start of the circular hike on the premium trail Almgenuss via the Hemmersuppenalm to the Schumacher cross and the Straubinger house, from there back to the hut (2 path variants to choose from), after a stop with the bus back down to Reit im Winkl (approx. 13 km, 520 Hm, 5½ Std).

Day 8: Return home

train passengers with the public bus to Prien station on Chiemsee, from there further respectively home journey.
