Day 1: Arrival

Arrival by own arrangement to Pontresina in the Oberengadin, ca. 5 km from St. Moritz. Garage at the hotel, subject to a fee. Rail travellers are collected at Pontresina (included in the price).

Day 2: Hike to St. Moritz

Pontresina lies at an altitude of 1,800 m. To acclimatise on the first day, an easy hike to St. Moritz, with a stroll and coffee break in the village, then around Lake St. Moritz and back to the hotel in Pontresina.

Day 3: On the Via Engiadina to Maloja

By postbus to Sils-Baseglia, light ascent on the Via Engiadina ridgeway to the Heidi village of Grevasalvas and further uphill to Blanca, with a beautiful view of the lake landscape. Then back down to Maloja and a refreshment stop in a traditional restaurant. By postbus back to the hotel (ca.3½ hours).
Optionally, you can continue along Maloja Lake on an even path via Isola to Sils-Maria and from there by postbus back to the hotel (+2 hours).

Day 4: Panorama Trail Celerina and Samedan

Ascent by chair lift to the station Alp Marguns, from there on a glorious panoramic trail at an altitude of ca. 2,500 m to the rustic Alpine chalet of Muntatsch above Samedan. After a refreshment stop, back down on forest tracks to Samedan or and by postbus back to the hotel in Pontresina (ca. 5 hours).

Day 5: Marmore and Fex Valley

By postbus to Sils-Maria, short ascent to the small church in Crasta, then on the hiking trail above the floor of the Fex Valley to Curtins, from there along a beautiful hillside path up to the viewing point at Marmore. After a short rest, continue to the Furtschellas summit station and a refreshment stop, before taking the cable car down and by postbus from Sils back to the hotel (ca. 4 hours).

Day 6: Bernina Express – Bernina Pass and Diavolezza

By Bernina Express to the Bernina Pass, hike along Lago Bianco to the valley station of the cable car. Ascent to the Diavolezza, at an altitude of 3,000 m, with a magnificent view of the Bernina ice caves, after a refreshment stop in Mountain hut Diavolezza ck down by cable car and by rail or bus back to Pontresina and the hotel (ca. 5 hours).

Day 7: Muottas Muragl Ridgeway – Alp Languard

By funicular railway up to Muottas Muragl. The almost level ridgeway, one of the most beautiful and panoramic in Upper Engadin, leads to the Alp Languard, providing wonderful views of the ice-capped Bernina Range and the lakes of Upper Engadin. After lunch, a gentle descent by chair lift to Pontresina (ca. 5 hours).

Day 8: Return home

Return home by own arrangement. Rail traveller will be taken to Pontresina Railway Station.
