Tour itinerary

1st day: Arrival in Oberstdorf

Arival to the hotel in Oberstdorf, free parking at the hotel.
Train journey to Oberstdorf to the centrally located train station.

2nd day: To the southernmost settlement in Germany - Einödsbach

From Oberstdorf towards Stillach. At the mountain stream on the Dammweg upstream to the valley station of the Fellhornbahn. Through the impressive end of the Stillach valley to Birgsau and a short steep ascent to Einödsbach. Wonderful view of the Allgäu Alps with the mighty peaks of Trettach, Mädelegabel and Hochfrottspitze (approx. 13 km, 350 m, 4 ½ hrs).

3rd day: Via the Wallrafweg to Gaisalpe

Past the Audi Arena to Breitenberg and on the Wallrafweg -with beautiful views of the upper Illertal- uphill along the west side of the Rubihorn to the Gaisalpe at 1149m altitude. Return via the Tobelweg through the deep gorge of the wild Gaisalpbach into the valley. Along the Gaisalpbach on sunny and scenic meadow paths via Rubi back to Oberstdorf (approx. 10 km, 400 Hm, 4½ hrs).

4th day: From Schönmünzach over the Hochleite to Freibergsee

With the public bus to the valley station of the Söllereckbahn.
Ascent to Schönblick with a magnificent view of the Oberallgäu. On the nature adventure trail with many interesting stations over the Hühnermoos - a high moor with unique flora & fauna - to the Hochleite. Descent to Schwand. Past the Heini-Klopfer ski jump to the picturesque Freibergsee. Descent to the lower Renksteg bridge and back to Oberstdorf amid flat meadows (approx. 9 km, 200 Hm, 4 hours).

5th day: Game, forest, hiking to Rohrmoos

By public bus to the centre of Tiefenbach. From there over a natural rambling path into the Seitental. The valley widens at the end of the rough track and Rohrmoos is reached. Back on the opposite side of the valley with a slight climb over the Schattwald forest up to the Engenkopf with a magnificent view of the Oberstdorf mountains. Down into the valley to the starting point of the hike. (approx. 14.5 km, 480 Hm, 4½ Std).

6th day: Into the Trettachtal - to the end of the valley

From Oberstdorf along the wild course of the river Trettach, along scenic clearings and charming avenues. Past the small, picturesque settlements of Dietersberg and Mumme and from Gottenried to Spielmannsau at the foot of the Kegelkopf. Return via the Truppersoyer bridge and the old Spielmannsauer Straße to Christlessee. Past the southernmost golf course in Germany over the Renksteg and the Loretto chapels to Oberstdorf (approx. 14.5 km, 230 Hm, 5 hours).

7th day: At your free disposal ...

... for a visit to the Heini-Klopfer-Skiflugschanze, the Audi-Arena, the Breitachklamm or... or...
... for a trip up the Foghorn or Fellhorn.
... for a trip to Kleinwalsertal
... for a stroll through the pedestrian zone in Oberstdorf

8th day: departure
