Day 1 (Sunday): Flight to Ireland

Arrival in the west of the island.
around 70 km to the southwest of Galway is the starting point for this one-week hiking tour through the most beautiful areas of western Ireland, accommodation in the small villages with hotel changing twice.

Day 2 (Monday): Cliffs of Mother

Hike along the coast to the most famous cliffs in Ireland, the Cliffs of Moher; a particularly impressive view of this jagged natural monument, which rises 200 meters up from the sea, can be had from Brian’s Tower. Spectacular views already on the way to the cliffs, then back to the village of Doolin (16 km, 5 hours, 200 m ascent). During the summer months there is live music almost daily in the village.

Day 3 (Tuesday): On the islands of the silent stones - Inishmore

A small ferry takes the hikers from Doolin to Inishmore, the largest of the three Aran Islands, the islands of the silent stones, which are located in Galway Bay. Its mythical name comes from the unique geological formations, so-called karst fields, which will be explored on the four-hour hike, along with old stone forts and lonesome beaches. The Gaelic culture and language has been cultivated for centuries on the Aran Islands. (16 km, 4 hours, 100 m ascent).

Day 4 (Wednesday): Killary Harbour

The route leads to Killary Harbour, a fjord that is incised deep into the mountains.
On a “Green Road”, which directly follows the fjord coastline, along the relicts of the past, abandoned villages, holy springs, and “lazy beds” (remains of old potato plantations), which illustrate the history of the Great Famine in the mid-19th century (15 km, 5 hours, 130 m ascent).

Day 5 (Thursday): Leenane Hill

The mountain village of Leenane is located directly at Killary Harbour, a fjord incised deep into the mountains. This hike first leads up Leenane Hill, up to a height of 600 metres. From the summit of this mountain, which belongs to the Maamturk Range, there are fascinating views of the surrounding mountain scenery (13 km, 5 hours, 580 m ascent)

Day 6 Friday):

Wer Möchte: Wanderung auf einem gut angelegten Weg zu dem berühmtesten Aussichtsberg des Connemara-Nationalparks mit einem wunderbaren Blick über die gesamte vorgelagerte Küste. Alternativ Spaziergang auf einem tiefer gelegenen Rundweg durch den Park oder Bootsfahrt auf dem Fjord.

Day 7 (Saturday): Benlevy

Today’s hike in the Connemara Mountains leads to Benlevy, in the midst of the typical mountain landscape of this region, with raised bogs, an abandoned village, and isolated mountain lakes (15 km, 5 hours, 420 m ascent).

Day 8 (Sunday): Return home

After breakfast, return home by own arrangement or transfer to the booked airport.
