6 days enjoyable hiking around Hachenburg

On selected hiking trails around Hachenburg!

Day 1: Arrival

From March til October daily arrival to the hotel, free hotel parking lot, train drivers will be picked up at Hachenburg station, There is still enough time after moving into the room for a walk through the old town of Hachenburg or a visit to the landscape museum

Day 2: Hike to the Monastery Marienstatt

Hike from the hotel on the Westerwald-Steig down to the Nistertal and on to the Marienstatt monastery (here became the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic Konrad Adenauer hiding from the National Socialists), after viewing / stopping off to the slate quarry on the Aßberg, from there back to the Nistertal to Astert, and by taxi back to the hotel (max. 17 km)

Day 3: Hike to Bad Marienberg

Hike on the Westerwaldsteig down to the Nistertal, then ascent to the great Wolfstein and the wildlife park, then to the basalt park and finally to Bad Marienberg, after Stroll through the center with many refreshment stops, by public bus back to Hachenburg (approx. 14 km)

Day 4: Hike to the Monastery Marienthal

In the morning with a taxi to Astert or Heuzert, quiet hike on the Westerwaldsteig along the Nister to the end of the world, then ascent to the Sonnenberg and further on the path to the Marienthal monastery, after a stop in one of the inns or hotels short hike to the train station and by train back to Hachenburg and the hotel (max. 16 km from Astert, 13 km from Heuzert)

Day 5: Hike to the Lakes of Westerwald

From the hotel to the Schoenstatt Pilgrimage Route to the observation tower on the Gräbersberg (stop and ascent possible), then to Dreifelden to the lake of the same name, which is part of the Westerwald Lake District, after a stop, continue along the lake to Steinebach and by taxi back to Hachenburg (approx. 15 km, if you return from Dreifelden approx. 12 km)

Day 6: Return home

Return home from Hachenburg by own arrangement.
Rail travellers: brief taxi ride to the station.
