From Passau to Linz, ca. 125 km
Day 1: Arrival at the hotel in Passau
Day 2: Passau – Kasten/Obernzell (21 km, 520 m ascent)
Day 3: Obernzell – Niederranna (20 km, 580 m ascent)
Day 4. Niederranna – Schlögen (17 km, 550 m ascent)
Day 5: Schlögen – Aschach (20 km, 410 m ascent)
Day 6: Aschach – Eferding (17 km, 190 m ascent)
Day 7: Eferding – Wilhering (16 km, 50 m ascent)
Day 8: Wilhering – Pöstlingsberg (14 km, 590 m ascent)
..........and by cable car back down to Linz
Day 9: Departure from Linz or rest day or continued hiking
If you are returning home, then by rail or Danube boat from Linz back to Passau

7 days Donausteig 2nd section (5 stages)

From Linz to Sarmingstein, ca. 90 km
Day 1: Arrival at the hotel in Linz
Day 2: By tram to Ebelsberg
.........Linz/Ebelsberg – Enns (20 km, 250 m ascent)
Day 3: Enns – Perg (20 km, 120 m ascent)
Day 4: Perg – Mitterkirchen (13 km, 30 m ascent)
Day 5: Mitterkirchen – Grein (22 km, 400 m ascent)
Day 6: Grein – Sarmingstein (16 km, 680 m ascent)
.........and by rail back to Grein
Day 7: Return journey by rail or Danube boat to Linz or Passau (depending on starting point)

Arrival

Arrival every day from March to November (Friday and Saturday NO arrival)

By car or rail to Passau or Linz, parking in Passau and Linz for a fee.
When arriving by rail, short taxi ride to the hotel (ca. 8-12 EUR).

Departure

Return by own arrangement by train from the end of the tour to start
and return home from there.
